So you want to join Sword of the Dragon?

Have you come for the glory or the blood? The unending discipline or the inevitable conflict? The espirit de corps or the contributions to a greater cause? Whatever the reason, know that the sacrifices you make will far outweight any personal material benefit.

Still interested?

Well, you better be tough. If you do not have a strong constitution and an even stronger will, you best walk away right now. We do not have time for childish antics, for boys playing at soldier, or for glory hounds looking to attach their names to our tradition.

We are Sword of the Dragon. Our history is long and storied. The bodies of friends and enemies that have been left on long overgrown battlefields are too innumerable to count. The memories leave behind unseen scars, and chances are, if you are lucky enough to be one of us, you too will gather scars.

So, if I still haven't scared you off by now (And I hope I have), I'll tell you some more specifics about our guild.

Sword of the Dragon was founded in 1995. In this time, we have forgotten more accomplishments than other guilds have obtained. We do not claim perfection. This guild has fallen on its knees like any other. The average guild will not survive. We have, many times over. We were founded as a military regiment, and though we are not any longer, the discipline and tradition remains evident in our vision.

As for that vision, we fight for what we believe in -- truth, honor, virtue, and a steadfast determination to do right. We use the tools at our disposal -- skill, courage, tenacity, persistence, and fortitude. None of these are just words to us. We die every day for these things and because of these things. Our agenda is not always the most popular one. Some may call us arrogant. Some may call us foolish. But in the end, we pursue our goals with a clarity of purpose from which we can look in the mirror each day and respect what we see.

Still here?

Then you may have what it takes. Then again, you may not. Here are the steps to find out:

1.) I expect you to read our Charter, FAQ, and any other relevant information on our website. If you have any remaining questions or do not understand anything, please ask. You can post questions on our forums, contact us via PM on the website, or in game. There is also a "Contact Us" function on the website to send us an email.

2.) Post an Application on our forums. If you do not follow the Application format and rules, you have just wasted your time, and more importantly, ours. It is recommended you have already grouped with members of Sword of the Dragon by this time, more than once, who will hopefully vouch for you.

NOTE: We expect that you are looking to join Sword of the Dragon, not join a guild. If we find an open application on any other guild website, you will NOT be accepted. No exceptions.

3.) Seek out the Guild Leader/Officers for groups and information. We will not necassarily seek you out, we expect you to be interested enough to put forth effort.

4.) Generally, the Application process is not too long or difficult, as getting through it will only allow you into a Trial position. That's the hard part. Make it through, and will you become a member, and become yet another important part of our continuing legacy.

That about sums it up. Sorry if this seemed long, but honestly if you were too lazy to read all this, you weren't good enough anyway. For those who are still interested, we look forward to hearing from you.
