Guild Charter
General:
Our goal is to provide a friendly and fun gaming experience for all members interested in building and fostering a great and respected guild. We strive for excellence in our actions and seek success by eliminating anything that may stand in our way. In times of chaos or great despair we will not succumb. Our destiny will be determined by our own actions and pure determination. The Sword of the Dragon is based on Loyalty, Honor, Skill, and Trust. Our members are held together by a close bond, formed through friendship, mutual respect, and sharing a common set of goals and standards. These standards are as follows:
WISDOM
- We strive for knowledge and work hard to develop our skills in order to use that knowledge
- We share that knowledge freely with our members and realm mates
- We do our best to use sound judgment in our behavior and decisions
AUDACITY
- We are bold in our actions and freely accept the consequences
- We have the right to be proud and work to foster self-confidence
- We lead and follow with no need for rudeness or insolence
BRAVERY
- We are fearless in battle and accept defeat with dignity and decorum
- We accept feedback and guidance when given with the intention of helping us to gain experience
- We actively defend and protect our members, alliance, and realm
INTEGRITY
- We place the needs of others ahead of our own personal gain
- We are honest, generous, and fair in our dealings with others
- We are respectful and dependable, and make amends when necessary
TENACITY
- We see a task through to it's completion
- We try and try again to meet our goals, and strive to keep challenging ourselves
- We seek help in order to accomplish tasks only after we have first attempted to do so on our own
Sword of the Dragon also has three virtues that we hold above all others. As a member of the guild, it is important that you have an understanding of these.
LOYALTY
In any guild, it is important that members feel loyal to eachother and to the guild itself. This means that we defend eachother; I have your back and you have mine kind of mentality. If you do not feel loyal to the guild as a whole and to its members, there is very little purpose in you being here.
HONOR
All of your actions must be honorable to the fullest extent. Be respectful and follow the golden rule. Whatever you do reflects upon yourself and the guild. Do not dishonor the guild.
RESPECT
Respect goes hand in hand with honor and loyalty. Here in Sword of the Dragon, we ask that you keep an open mind, and show respect to all members of the guild and of our allies. Remember that although you may not agree with them, your goal is usually the same. We also ask you respect members of the opposing faction. In this sense, respect relates to honor. There is no excuse for treating them poorly, such as griefing, and only reflects badly on you and thus the guild.
Basic Guidelines:
- To help everyone in the guild without demand of compensation.
- We expect all our members to take responsibility for their actions and to actively participate in the development of their characters as well as the betterment of the guild. Members should do their best to attend meetings, guild and alliance events, as well as groups designed to help gain needed experience and resources.
- To uphold the utmost Honor, Integrity, Duty, and Tradition of Sword of the Dragon. We will not lie and deceive each other. We will show a united front.
- Do not publically complain. We do not tolerate whiners.
- All members have the right to an opinion, however Sword of the Dragon does not condone to the deliberate slander, greifing or abuse, etc. of our members. This is a zero tolerance policy so that we can protect and maintain the integrity of our guild.
Guild and Loot:
- You are not to take an item that someone else needs to wear or use, so that you may sell it. We at Sword of the Dragon are not greedy. Need does come first here, or the money you made from that item will have to help you find a new guild.
Killing Other Players:
- Absolutely No Griefing. We do not corpse camp, kill the same person or people over and over, etc., without just cause. If you run into a random enemy, kill him and move on. However if an enemy is griefing a guild member, I expect you to show him the same, and do so ten fold. Sword of the Dragon shows honor, but we are not carebears. If an enemy kills a member of the guild, he attacks the guild as a whole, and you are expected to respond in kind.
Crafting:
- We ask that guild members do not attempt to profit off of other guild members. We are here to use our abilities to help eachother, not gain wealth from eachother. So we ask that you charge guild members material cost for any orders. If guild members wish to tip, that is by their own choice.
- Please charge a fair price to anyone out of the guild, and do not purposely attempt to rip someone off.
- Before selling any high level recipes and materials, please ask the guild high-end crafters if they need them. It is imperative we work as team and help the guild obtain high end crafters in all areas. If money is more important to you than helping the guild, find another guild.
Time Demands & Restraints:
- We do not want you to treat the game like a job. However we do ask that you play actively and participate in events and guild groups as much as possible. We would like to see you in game weekly at a minimum. We will most likely have a mix of casual players and more semi-hardcore type players, so either playing schedule will fit in.
- We ask that if you know you will be gone an extended amount of time (1 week or over) you let one of the officers know.
- In the end, we can be pretty lax, depending on how many spots are open in the guild. However, if we need the slots and find that mains or alts have not been played in 3 weeks to 1 month (with no explanation as to why), you can expect those characters to be removed in order to make room for new active members. With that said, if we do not need the slots, I tend to not pay as much attention.
Joining and Leaving Guild:
- Due to limitations in Aion in respect to number of guild members, we are forced to restrict the number of Alt characters within the guild. As of now we will limit people to 1 alt only. However members within their trial period are not allowed to have an alt. Also your alt must be actively played, or it will be removed.
- If a post of yours is found on the Recruitment forum of another guild, you will automatically be removed. Our guild is not a temporary holding guild for others. If you do not want to be in this guild, that is fine, but leave, not waste our time. I do not want people in this guild who simply could not get in the guild that they really want to be in.
- If you have a problem with a guild member that cannot be solved between the two of you, it is imperative that you take it up with one of the officers. If your initial response is to leave the guild first, and THEN try to talk to one of us, you will most likely get ignored. We have no patience for cry babies and drama queens. Stay in the guild and try to correct the problem, not run away.
- If you leave the guild on your own accord, you will be allowed back in the guild, unless the Officers feel you left in bad taste. However with guild rank, you will start at the bottom again. If you leave a second time, you will not be allowed to return. Think on this before you decide to leave. I also ask that if you plan on leaving the guild, you talk to an officer you feel comfortable with first. So many times, people leave for stupid reasons that can be worked out with a little bit of communication. I will not take the excuse "I didn't know" on this, or anything else stated in the Charter.
